☕ Good morning, Long Island! Nick here, holding it down while Mike’s off somewhere with his toes in the sand and a drink in hand.

I’ve been having fun steering the ship, sharing the news, and chatting with all you fine folks across the Island. Let’s keep it rolling! 🚤 🌊

☀️ Today will be mostly cloudy, with a high near 81. Showers and possibly a thunderstorm are likely before 11 a.m., with more showers possible after 2 p.m.

First, ‘Surrender Dorothy’ skywriting stunt spotted over Long Island

🧙‍♀️ If you saw “Surrender Dorothy” written in the sky over Fourth of July weekend, you weren’t dreaming — and you definitely weren’t in Kansas. The nod to "The Wizard of Oz" was a skywriting stunt promoting a new immersive experience opening Aug. 28 at Sphere in Las Vegas.

Second, summer street festivals happening today

💃 Today, if the weather holds up, we got the following street festivals: Alive by the Five (Patchogue), Music on Main (Farmingdale) and Summer in the Streets (Huntington). All three events start at 5 p.m.

Can't make it? Here's a list of great street festivals happening across the Island this summer.

Third, foodie headlines to highlight

🍺 The Village Idiot Pub in Lake Grove is officially closing — but not before one final bash. On Friday, July 18, the pub will offer half-off drinks all day as a thank-you to its loyal customers.

🍔 Tex’s Chicken & Burgers expands on Long Island, opening a new location in Shirley along William Floyd Parkway.

🛒 King Kullen in Middle Island permanently closed on Thursday, marking the end of an era for the long-standing grocer on Middle Country Road.

🥗 The newly opened Posh Deli in Wantagh is focused on healthy eats, offering dishes made with organic ingredients and locally sourced products.
